For his performance, An octopus is an octopus but it is ____., Riki Takeda cooks takoyaki (Japanese octopus balls) for certain communities in Asia in hopes of remembering the dead soldiers of World War II in Manila Bay. Lumbres designed and built this mobile, convertible takoyaki cart as the stage for Takeda's performance. He also stood as an interpreter/facilitator in this site-specific piece.
